Pengertian Advertisement

 Advertisement adalah suatu teks yang berisi suatu penjelasan/ deskripsi tentang kelebihan suatu produk atau kegiatan yang ditawarkan yang bertujuan untuk mengajak pendengar atau pembaca untuk membeli atau menggunakan barang-barang atau jasa yang ditawarkan dalam iklan tersebut.


Ada tiga jenis iklan, yaitu iklanyang diperdengarkan, ikalan cetak, dan visual. Iklan yang diperdengarkan disampaikan melalui radio. Iklan cetak disampaikan melalui media cetak atau elektronik, misalnya surat kabar, majalah, tabloid, dan pamphlet. Iklan visual disampaikan melalui televisi.

Ada berbagai bentuk iklan, diantaranya iklan produk, baik barang maupun jasa, iklan lowongan pekerjaan.

Tujuan komunikatif suatu advertisement:
to promote...:
to advertise...
to offer...
to persuade ... to ...: membujuk (pembaca/ pemirsa/ pendengar) untuk ....
